The group had the opportunity to help a 16 year old kid recover from a motorbike accident. We found him in Steung Meanchey (the dump) the day after he was in the accident. His body was pretty sore and he was in a good amount of pain. He did not go to the hospital or the clinic; he merely cleaned his wounds with water and semi clean rags that were around the house. None of his wounds were life threatening, but the substandard medicine and the severe lack of money make infection a major concern. Fortunately, he was able to get his wounds cleaned and some medicine for the pain.
By the time we left Cambodia, he was recovering nicely. Hopefully, next time we see him he is back to full health and back to work.
